Flora and fauna in the typical ecosystem of Hanoi is quite rich and diverse. The management and construction of a database of biological resources is essential to manage, preserve and exploit values in a sustainable and strategic way. However, the ability to manage, exploit and use the databases of biological resources is limited because the current management has not followed a logical system. There is no specialized training staff on IT management of biological resources.Although there has been interest, the budget for implementation is still very limited, there is no fixed expenditure of the local budget for this activity.Regular funding for conservation of biological resources and management of biological resources data is not enough. The database is built by domestic agencies, the budget and equipment have not met the demand.
Because the management of databases on biological resources has not yet been systematized, the system of specialized facilities and equipment in the localities is still sketchy, not suitable to the requirements. The infrastructure has not been used for managing the databases of existing biological resources. The database was built without taking into account the fulfillment of user requirements and persistence.
With that situation, Hanoi Forest Protection Department has built and designed the task of "Building a database of biological resources in Hanoi city". The Institute of Forest Ecology and Environment under Vietnam University ofForestry is a unit that fully meets the requirements of professional and financial capacity to perform this task. Mission: "Building a database of biological resources in Hanoi city" is carried out from 7/2018 to 12/2018 with the objectives (i) - Building a mechanical system digital database of biological resources of forest in Hanoi city in digital form with the application of advanced database management system; (ii) - Develop the Website for online management of this database system to meet the following objectives: maintaining long-term use and easy use, allowing upgrading and expanding the database over time in a simple and convenient way.
Through investigation and synthesis, collecting information from a variety of data sources, showing that forest resources in Hanoi city have high levels of biodiversity. The results of research, field investigation and inheritance of research results have been published, allowing the group to perform the task of successfully building a system of database of forest natural resources in Hanoi city with the number 2.398 different animal and plant species belong to 8 phyla, 16 classes, 107 orders and 340 families. The entire database system is managed and allows users to exploit and use the website of Hanoi Forest Protection Department(Click on : Conservation Department at the address: kiemlamhanoi.ifee.edu.vn or go directly to the address: hfcd.ifee.edu.vn).
This study also shows that the forest ecosystems of Hanoi city are currently distributed in 7 districts and towns; however, the area is strictly protected and most effective is in Ba Vi National Park, Experimental forest belonging to Vietnam University of Forestry, Special-use Forest in Huong Son and Soc Son. Data processing, analysis and statistics show:
1. Flora of Hanoi City includes 1,659 species of 6 phyla, 11 classes, 66 orders and 196 families. In which, most of them are magnoliophyta with 93.31%, with the remaining sectors, Polypodiophyta is 5.31%, Gymnospermatophyta, Gnetophyta, Cycadophyta and Lycopodiophyta accounts for less than 1%, respectively. 0.9%, 0.18%, 0.12%, 0.36%.
2. Fauna in Hanoi city include a total of 739 species belonging to 2 phyla (vertebrata and arthropoda), with 5 classes, 41 orders, and 144 families. The vertebrate sector is the majority with 464 species, accounting for 62.8% of the total species belonging to 4 classes (amphibians, reptiles, birds, animals). Arthropoda with 275 species, accounting for 37.2% of the total species, all of which belong to the Insecta. So the Insecta is still the most diverse class compared to the four classes of vertebrata.
