The second training course on using tablet, GPS, smartphone for reviewing Payment for forest environmental services (PFES) status in Son La province was implemented by Institute for Forest Ecology and Environment. The trainees were staffs of Son La forest protection and development fund.

The second training course on using tablet, GPS, smartphone for reviewing PFES in Son La province was held in Son La forest protection and development fund from 12th to 14th, December, 2017. Contents of the training course:

  • Softwares installing
  • Introducing about coordinate systems WGS84 and VN2000
  • Using GPS
  • Satellite images downloading and processing
  • Data preparing and map adjusting
  • Transferring data into tablet, GPS and smartphone
  • Using tablet, GPS and smartphone on real fieldTransferring data from and smartphone to tablet, GPS, computer.
  • Using MapInfo with data from tablet, GPS and smartphone
  • Mapping forest status for supporting PFES
